The effectiveness of this technique is based on the principle of Hormesis (from Greek Hórmēsis, meaning rapid movement or striving), which refers to the stimulating effect of moderate doses of stressors. In PDT, selective elimination of damaged structures in the epidermis and dermis occurs, along with normalization of cellular metabolism, optimization of melanogenesis, and angiogenesis through a photochemical reaction activated by light energy. This reaction requires the presence of a photosensitive substance (photosensitizer) in the target tissue and a light source with a wavelength corresponding to the absorption maximum of this substance. The result is the formation of singlet oxygen (O2).
Stabilized 5% 5-aminolevulinic acid, the main active ingredient in ALA FACTOR thermoactive gel, induces endogenous protoporphyrin IX synthesis. The excitation of protoporphyrin IX leads to the production of reactive (singlet) oxygen, which has the following therapeutic effects: stimulation of the body’s antioxidant system; acceleration of metabolic reactions and regeneration processes; reduction of inflammation; and improved respiratory efficiency.

Directions:
